Tony Brooks, former President of XPO LTL is no longer with the company. The story gets very interesting with respect to his replacement and as soon as details are confirmed, I will post.

There’s already a thread in this. Keep this one union only.

No you did not speak as a mod , you spoke for him, I never said any XPO employee did anything to me, again your reading comprehension is lacking.
You keep going on and on about my lack of comprehension and the entire time you’ve failed to comprehend what I asked. If you need help maybe your Nana can help?

Any time something negative is said about the Teamsters, we’re called fearful and misinformed. When a letter from a real Teamster is posted, there isn’t much to say..........

You can see how we might be confused by the things you say........

Of course, you're confused, because you still fail to realize that pro union IS pro drivers. The union fights to get benefits for drivers that the company wouldn't otherwise provide. Actually, the union prevents companies from taking away benefits that the drivers already have. Xpo is doing that right now and terminals who have certified are able to put a stop to it. You have tried consistently, yet failed to find any real discrepancies in my posts. So, as I have said before, you really need to let it go. Your only real argument was corruption, which we have seen is being addressed. So, I state once again that we are infinitely better off with representation than we are without it. Until we address the company's practice of taking what we already have, they will continue to take as long as they feel we are powerless to respond.

THIS WAS POST # 6078. I GUESS YOU MISSED IT!
I can't comment on the UPS contract as I know nothing about it. I do believe that it was ratified by the rank and file. I thought I heard that UPS line haul will be earning .96 per mile in a few years. I'd take that as a positive. Package drivers earn over 38.00 per hour. Although they earn every penny, I'd take that as a positive as well. ALL UPS drivers have the benefit of a grievance and arbitration process the is sorely lacking in EVERY non-union shop. "At will" employment is effectively negated by a union contract. All upper management executives have contracts. Why shouldn't we? The compensation packages enjoyed by ALL non-union carriers are a direct result of the contracts negotiated by union carriers. Whether it is driver retention or to keep unions out, all non union carriers try to stay close to the contract terms negotiated by unions.

The person who wrote this letter singled out 4 out of 250,000 drivers who were driven to horrendous acts of violence, and the huge assumption here is that these incredibly unfortunate incidents were caused by James Hoffa? Are you serious? What about the other 247,996 drivers who go to work every day, do their jobs, support their families and enjoy the benefits of their union contract. Your posts and responses make less sense every day and I am having difficulty comprehending what you are trying to say half the time. Your obsession with people calling you out and/or contesting your point of view is beyond rational . Take a Xanax and a shot of Jack Daniels and, I assure you, you'll feel much better.

They are getting ready to do it again

Actually, I have more questions. With respect to the legal immigration process, were you aware that it is standard practice to take 6 months to a year for their application to be approved? When it is approved, it takes another month to get their green card. All during this time, they are watching their children go hungry, even starving in some cases. They are preyed on by corrupt government officials, as well as gang violence. In order to file the paperwork for a green card, the cost is 745.00 US dollars. The minimum wage in Mexico is 4.12 per DAY, not per hour. So, in effect, a man with a wife and one child would have to save up 2235.00 US dollars to apply for green cards for his family. That would be 542 days of work, WITHOUT spending a dime on food, rent or clothing. That'll work, right?

Aid to ALL the Americas combined amounts to nickels compared to the aid rendered to the rest of the world. Not buying that one either. All we owe them is a chance to become a productive member of American society, which they are doing without our help. The Statue of Liberty says so. Every undocumented worker pays into a social security system from which he will never see a single dime. In effect, they are contributing to your retirement. Be sure to thank them next time you see them. They pay into medicare which they will never be able to use. They are not eligible for social programs of any kind, including food stamps. Construction Jobs??? I would love to see any American carry 75 pound bundles of roofing tiles up a ladder 100 times a day. I had that job for one week...then, I quit.

Our 50 dollar a week tax cut is crumbs compared to what the corporations received. Our tax cuts end in 7 years. Theirs continue. By the way, you received a similar tax cut from President Obama in 2009. A bit less, it's true, but you got one just the same.

There is no ONE program in the United States called welfare. Here are some facts about social programs that will certainly surprise you. I urge you to click on the link and educate yourself.

So, you see, I had a few more questions, however, I hope I also provided some answers for you. You were right about one thing, Harley planned a move to Thailand in response to our rejection of the Trans Pacific Partnership last year. A decision that I was totally in favor of. . The current administration simply expedited their plan.
You are basing your thoughts on emotion and not logic. Use both. It’s good to help the needy. Quoting Margaret Thachter “socialism is good until you run out of someone else’s money”. Based on the logic of your reasoning we should let anyone come here who earns less than $5 a day. That means open borders. Don’t stop the migrant worker, he’s just bringing his family to live off social bennies while he works his low wage job. How is this not take from rich and give to the poor? There has to be a standard for immigration and it has to be enforced or else we become the place everyone is so desperate to leave

I'm Italian, so emotion does play a big part in this. However, there is some logic in it as well. Neither I nor ANY politician that I know of has ever called for open borders. I disagree with open borders. I advocate for a reasonable and attainable immigration policy. Migrant workers are a necessary part of our economic structure. Any business who has the need for temporary or even permanent workers should be permitted to sponsor immigrants from these Latin American countries. They should be properly vetted to insure that their intentions are true and they should be issued immediate green cards to work here in the United States. Those who are here temporarily mat return to their home country when their work is finished. Farm workers come to mind. Those who wish to stay permanently, could apply for citizenship and complete a specific program and waiting period and be accepted here, as our fathers and grandfathers were. I'm sure there are those who will find fault in my suggestion and I'm sure some improvements might be made, but the system as it exists today simply encourages illegal immigration.

By the way, statistics show that President Obama deported more people than Regan, Clinton or either of the Bushes. Statistics also show that the tide of immigration has been reversed. There are more people leaving this country than coming in. And I can tell you from personal experience that an American cannot just walk into Mexico and set up house. There are criteria that must be met and procedures that must be followed.

Sooo many people running on pure emotion when it comes to the imagration issue. A lot of it is misplaced anger and frustration without knowing the facts and it not helping that Trumps capitalizing on these fears and emotions.
It's happened in past history that we blame the weakest amongst us for all are problems while the power hungry reap the rewards. I know it's not what people want to hear and it's different this time. But it's not . It's history repeating itself .
The power and money grab are in motion and those that will be impacted the most in a negative way by the changes are facilitating it. FOCUS on the facts.

People don't like hearing stuff like this. They want to believe the crap on the news so they can feel better than everybody else.

We recruit all the time every day and every way .Every time we come knocking the company feels that they have to give you guys a raise .Just once ,say thank you Teamsters for my raise .(Will always come back)
I'll take my raise. Pay no dues and feel no guilt. Thanks for all you do for the mee-sters like myself. Keep up the good work.

OK sonny here are my observations, You said you were laid off at your union job and they wouldn't get you another job ( almost word for word what either Fly by Nite or Scotch Neat said can't remember which one) when I called you on it you called me names.
You said you were involved in 3 contract negotiations which would give you about 9 years of seniority, when I asked why with 9 years seniority you faced a layoff you called me names, when I asked what your local was you called me names. You are just like a toddler that lies and tries to talk their way out of it by telling more lies, those are my observations.
'twasn't me.
