Yellow | Yellow freight management

Seems like the Companies Yellow Bought were Successes up until Yellow bought them. Every Decision Yellow has made,
Has been the wrong one. Yellow wanted to fix something that was'nt broken. Not one of Yellows plans have worked! Why would any reasonable person put any faith in any Plan that Yellow tries to implement now.

How successful were all the hundreds of companies that Yellow didn't buy since the late 1970's? How are they doing? Just curious.

I’m not certain about managements wages needing to be reduced, but the headcount definitely does. All the VP’s can probably be reduced by 75% and several layers could be cut out entirely. Just at my terminal alone we have 5 too many. If the situation and cash flow is so dire doesn’t that require a maximal response to trim anyone not actually moving freight? Those salaries would come right off the bottom line and would not affect our ability to serve our customers. Hard times require hard decisions.

They do go way overboard on unecessary costs...for a broke company.

The hundreds of Companies that you speak of, Fell victim to Deregulation. And they were all unprepared for the ramifications that deregulation brought. I lost my Job back then. I just had to get another Job. One thing I can say, I never gave wages back to the company

And you could easily and rightfully argue that the union didn't understand the effects of deregulation, and has fought the companies when they've tried to implement business plans that non union carriers have proven work. T force to a large degree uses the same model as the non union carriers, and ABF has a modified version of their plan. Yellow stands alone as the only carrier truly still using the 1950's union business model today. To quote Dr. Phil "How's that working out for you?"

Many of those companies were run and or owned by former drivers. Not real businessmen, most just got lucky growing their companies.
They were not prepared for deregulation. They used Einstein's definition of insanity. They did nothing until it was their turn to go out of business
Meanwhile the teamsters kept on with business as usual. Allowing the non union sector to beat every teamster carrier in performance and more importantly profits!
And here we are today......
