As CON-WAY employees, remember that five seconds will get you fired! Five times late (1 second each) in twelve months will get you fired..........Now that's employee appreciation! Live the dream! Us management types love ya!
 
yeah thats employee love - thank goodness the con way guys on this forum steered me away from applying with con way.I am not late much, but thats a good sign for a GOOD driver with a perfect driving record to " just say no" sounds like ABF is the one to apply for

this must be a new rule i've been late before and nothing happend there is always a traffic jam or you had to stop and fix your trailer lights

must be a "terminal" thing. Im NEVER on time, and noone ever says anything to me. We run about 30-40 runs a night, and have about a 60-80% on time record.

it's not a line haul thing. this is about while you're in your car, driving from home to work.

Lets review: CON-WAY point system to clear out employees before they reach top rate ( also known as driver turn over) 1 to 5 incidents for tardiness, early departure from shift without authorization i.e. leaving because of illness or such, or absenteeism.

3 points letter of instruction
4 points conference call with General Office
5 points disciplinary action up to and including termination

Thats sad.Now you wait for him to say or do the wrong thing and drop a dime on his petty butt.
 
Does Con Way management want to fire good drivers ? Hell if they do where are they gonna get news ones ? It doesnt take long for the word to get out in the industry and then NO GOOD drivers will apply at all. Hopefully, this is just in one location and not thru out the whole company. This will hurt their reputation as a good company to work for. Maybe they should fire some supervisors for a change.

Our reputation I am sorry to say is not the best.Thats not the doing of a few pissed off drivers.For me just give me a tall glass of blue kool-aid and I'm good.

Do you know your point standing with CON-WAY? 5 points and they win..........This is company wide just ask someone in authority about it. Be knowledgeable about your future and don't be surprised. This is not one service center this is company wide. Ask questions!
 
I dunno 1t .... did a manager pee in your cheerios, or what? You have to be one of the most disgruntled drivers that I've seen on the boards. Just out of curiosity, what exactly have you done (other than blow off steam) to make it better?
 
What makes you so sure I even work for CON-WAY ? I'm just stating facts of CON-WAY.....Not blowing off steam.You seem to be a little touchy about the topic? How exactly do you correct socialist propaganda intimidation? Ah, the unanswerable question.
