TForce | Freightliner Columbia

Put a few on my Flickr page of pics of some of the stuff I've taken over the years. Just a small sample as I'm a huge geek on this stuff. Whether you agree with the company, be it whatever company, and it's policies or not, it's history on wheels, and I'm just a humble hobbyist. Some die hard truck guys think I'm a traitor for being a serious railfan and HO scale modeler too. LOL

My Flickr page

Anybody have any shots of Overnite's old open top trailers, 12500+ series Mack MC600T or 10700 series Mack CH602T conventionals? There were also singles (presumably test units) of a Freightliner FLD 12064ST sleeper tractor circa 1992, #31400, and Mack a MH 603 "Ultraliner" COE #31001 that I've never seen pics of.

No bad taste here.
I cut my teeth with Big O. I learned a lot and worked hard and was rewarded with a steady pay check and stocks that seemed to split all the time. I was also rewarded with meeting good people that knew what being a co-worker and good friend was all about. We moved freight and did not worry about stops per hour and idle time etc etc..
I can honestly say that for my time with them I enjoyed it.

That can be said for a lot of us.

be careful they might try to rebrand this....

great pic renegade.....absolute history right there

is this at your terminal?

..No this is Ric,the shop was getting it cleaned up to be put into a museum in Rke..I`ll try and get some shots of the trailer they restored..those guys did a marvelous job...yeah that old girl has a flat 6 ,gas burner with a twin stick duplex....and hugh steering wheel:clap:

Thanks Renegade, I remember the article in Over the Road magazine about the restored tractor and trailer, its real cool for the company to honor Overnites history like that...

Richmond sold that old F-Model Mack recker. Does anyone have any photos of it?

Now that I'd love to see too! It's rare to see a company with their own wrecker. I've got shots of R&L's IH with a Mack on the hook, and I've gotten a few shots over the years of the IH's and lowboys O used to shuttle tractors around. Still a rare sight though.

While we're on the subject of rare equipment, I remember the story in the Over the Road a few years ago that told how O hauled their own fuel at one time and had tankers in the fleet. Used to be one in IND. Not sure if it's still around though.

I just found an old sheet here defining the equipment prefixes, so it gives an idea of what once was:
