Yellow | Leave yrc for those who want to work there

Just an observation from an outsider. If you've worked at YRC with the concessions for the last 5 years, something tells me you're not voting yes and then heading out to look for another job. I've been through 2 bankruptcies and a closure. I always rode the horse until it died. But the horse w I was on was never as hurt as the YRC horse all of you are riding on. Good luck to all of you whichever way you vote and whatever happens.

I think to put it in simple terms the ones that say close the doors want go to work elsewhere but if their new job falls through they don't have to listen to why did you quit YRC in the first place. I don't like the concessions anymore than anybody else but then again I like my job and $50,000 plus a year with benefits is better than $25,000 a year with very limited benefits if any. The only reason I am still here to complain is because they changed our Retirement when I was 56 years old with 29.45 years of service my initial plan was retire at 57 with 30 years of service went down the drain, now I am waiting on 62 with about 38 years of service.

I guess you think your current annual salary will buy alot more goods and services 2 or 3 years from now?Nice logic. With the language about not allowing yrc to buy a non or union representative company without tnfic approval within this proposals contractual time span.Is really asking for trouble.Do you trust the tnfic on holding pat on not allowing the company to buy ABF?Yeah i didnt think so.Alot of us could land ourselves without a job with that language ..no to the hall no.Owner ops pulling our work.H to the NO

We are bound and determind this horse isn't gonna die. It's gonna walk into the glue factory on it's own four legs with people pushing it for pennies on the dollar!

I realize that being union is all about seniority, voting, and equality. I agree that those are all good things. However, YRC is not a normal situation. This company has made many devastating decisions. I can't believe they made it thru the YRC - ROADWAY merger. I was there and how it still exists is nothing short of a miracle. Everyone has been hurt, gave concessions, and give back more than their fare share. However, I think it is now time to step back and look at reality. If you are tired of YRC walk away, don't vote and move on. If you want to continue to work at YRC vote yes and hope it works. Everyone needs to let their personal vendettas with YRC go and think about those who still want their job. Many will not agree with this but that's ok too.

Who are you to tell someone to walk away from their job. I choose to vote no and see what plan c is. If that means they shut the doors so be it. As far as vendettas go the company does not let their vendettas go with me so Im voting no. If they need paper for BK Ill gladly supply it for them.

i believe you will see a plan C because of a no vote .
the spineless yes voters dont care enough to go vote ,my god it would maybe cost them a days pay or they dont even know where the locals are .
they NO voters are organizing and are not afraid to take a letter if need be to go and vote NO .

And you've driven all around the country and interviewed folks to be able to make such a broad ranging statement. I used to think you were rational in your comments at one time even if we disagreed.

Regardless if how you vote or how this turns out, u can't trust the IBT or the company & too many concessions given for too long, also we were asked at the start to assist to get the company on their feet not pay off their debts nor the blunders from previous, too many of us and those before us have fought to get the pay/ benefits we currently & in past have enjoyed & this is precisely why u can enjoy this amount of pay with a 15% hit, too many have given blood, sweat & tears to get us where we are/were, at some point teamster brothers need to remember who or what they are, grow a backbone & stand up, & for the record I voted yes on the recent turn down & it was the hardest decision I've has to make to vote yes & haven't decided on this yet , most don't know anything but this job, I ran coast to coast before this so I know, do I want the company to go out , no but I don't like being lied to & strung along, we get nothing in return for our $ but a job, u don't see them say u pay off our debt & we'll pay off yours.

We have to stay here to help you weak teamsters out.Nothing has never been gained by emphathetic individuals.Life is a gamble. In this case youre not gambling. The powers to be said we would be out of business if all of us didnt give up the candy store. We are still here and the candy store is still intact.Vote no and at least have a contract til 2015.

Last week Hoffa was your idle now your calling him weak?

No one wants concessions, but with a ‘yes’ vote at least we live to see another day, and I urge you to do that,” Hoffa said.

We need to protect the weak, again like last time.

im saying this because of what i see .there are more sites than trucking board .
2 others that i am one have nearly 4000 people that dont just flap their gums but are activly pushing for no votes .
they are passionate and organized .they are making calls taking name .pushing the press ,calling congressmen, cnn local news .
they are renting bus or vans and making sure their message is being taken seriously .
while yes voters are busy worrying about losing a days pay and whinning we dont like you for voting no just quit

Being passionate about a cause is a good thing. What's important is having solid information and facts and not hearsay and fantasy influencing that passion. Anyone who doesn't understand or who chooses to ignore or downplay the real financial situation of the company is a fool. And that includes many on here who should know better.
