Keep your 401 and insurance beneficiaries up to date and make copies.Put those up to date copies with your will that you should already have drawn up.DO NOT assume O.D. will automatically take care of everything if you die.Employee paperwork has always been a struggle as you know.Make sure the money you've worked for and put in goes where you intended it to when you die.Don't leave a mess for somebody else to straighten out,it is real easy for an insurance policy to get lost in the process.Be responsible.
