I don't know..... Let's ask Mr owl....I always wonder if this nightmare didn't happen would Yellow, Roadway and Holland still be in operation paying full pension with close to UPS Feeder pay rate?
ABF does and they’re still around and profitable!Their pay rate isn’t as high as UPS,but they are paying full rate on fringes which puts them well over $55 an hour!I always wonder if this nightmare didn't happen would Yellow, Roadway and Holland still be in operation paying full pension with close to UPS Feeder pay rate?
AND, don't forget....they also bought a company and merged it into ABF.ABF does and they’re still around and profitable!Their pay rate isn’t as high as UPS,but they are paying full rate on fringes which puts them well over $55 an hour!
Larger company buying a much smaller one as opposed to Yellow/Roadway?The Carolina / ABF deal was a disaster but some how they pulled it off.
Correct! In fact they bought a few companies over the years, Carolina being one of them which almost sunk them but they survived and pulled through!AND, don't forget....they also bought a company and merged it into ABF.
My Local 135 Prez at that time said the Pension would have done them all in without the merger.I always wonder if this nightmare didn't happen would Yellow, Roadway and Holland still be in operation paying full pension with close to UPS Feeder pay rate?
That look says “I’m not sure this is gonna work but I’m sure I’ll make a killing doing it”…
$2,200.00+ a week for a high school dropout to move brown boxes across the dock. What could possibly go wrong?ABF does and they’re still around and profitable!Their pay rate isn’t as high as UPS,but they are paying full rate on fringes which puts them well over $55 an hour!
