An investor with no political say. Surelly under the economic system which is setup we can be replaced.........but a country relying on a system which leaves people living in fear for a dollar constantlly,which we have since Reagan, is a country with low moralle......eventually that investor favoring system must change.....if ya don't take care of the majority of the people...eventually they will take care of you.....this system is not worth dying for.......you can only be replaced because the present system says you can....other systems made it so it wasn't so easy......maybe then you were treated as a fellow citizen, or christian brother or fellow human being.........not just an investment to be bought or traded or sold like livestock.....it's up to us to stick together and change that and stand up for what is right.......and we should be put ahead of profits...........if this is the ABF thread i am not here to tell you how to vote or something....i havent followed it too closely except for the insane story of YRC trying to buy you..... If you changed the system, which your freedom and liberty allows you to..........you could one day be saying that business owners and investment firms could easilly be replaced and corporations.....or something along those lines.......It's all in what you wamnt to allow as a nation......and allowing american citizens to think of themselves as so easilly replaceable as it has for so long is unamerican to me.....don't ask or even try to force my kids to serve in the military with that mentality.............and thats where it leads. and that leaves us just as safe as importing technology and weapons for the military which also comes from the investor favoring politics....
 
I am a Veteran from the early 70's, Brother. I have 3 big , strapping sons, one playing college football......and I refuse to let them join the military......(.as much as I can tell a young man not to do something). Something about making war on false pretences....just gets under my skin. So that makes me a Socialist in some peoples' eyes. I, too, believe in the inherent good in people,...their worth, as it were. It bothers me that private industry uses and abuses people,.......and we're told to take it,.....because we're not as "important" to the economy of this country, as a corporation is. Now, that makes me a Communist, in some peoples' estimation. And ,...as far as all of us being "shareholders",....well, anyone here read "Catch-22"? Remember Milo Minderbinder, the mess treasurer? He built the mess hall into a global business in the middle of WWII,....by selling "shares". Eventually,...everyone , according to Milo, had a "share" in the business. And his business got so big that, yes....everyone had a "share",...privates, lieutenants, generals , politicians, the (⊙▃⊙)s, the Russians, the French Freedom Fighters,...their enemy, the Vichy French.......everyone in the world, eventually. Only thing was,...only Milo had the money. Everyone else had ......"shares". Hilarious......only....sometimes I think that "Milo Minderbinder" is now running Wall Street........And we all have a "Share".....

I'll Praise the Lord, work hard, tell the truth, as gently as I can, and leave the outcome to Him! If ABF is forced to sell out to YRC, He has another plan for me! As of now, I'm praying that doesn't happen, but warning interested folks that I believe it can realistically (and legally) whether morally or not it should happen...IT CAN HAPPEN...and how we approach this agreement with ABF can help seal the deal....just sayin

You've been around for a while...I'm sure you've had one of those CB radio-3:00 in-the-morning bull sessions where you and a couple of other drivers completely fixed all the problems in the world?..........Well....Welcome to the 21st Century, where we can do it on line now!......(......no one ever listened to my suggestions on the CB, anyhow.....)......

But, the Good Lord has taken care of me anyway...and, well,...that part is no Bull! So I try to have an attitude of gratitude,no matter what these companies toss our way.

I don't know that I'll even have a pension anymore...I'll probablly have to work til I'm dead, wioth the rest of the under 50 crowd.....You're people have made it that way, Stoney.....The financial sector has been the major beneficiary and pusher of your beleifs. And they take and take and take and we give and give and give.....THey have trained this monkey to beleive that they will take my pension and any 401K that I may start .....Its all about them, just the way you're saying......But why would you want that? Because they tell you to.........There was a better way....and still could be. Why do you think that i didn't have a bank account when I used to post......because they found tons of ways to make billions...with every transaction they charge.....millions of people get charged a little/day and they build a political warchest constantlly gearing things in there0favor.......and against us...more for them and less for us....until we dance for a peanut when they crank the handle....They have no ethics yet expect work ethics. They don't have the money because it was theirs...your political economic,policies give it to them...and take it from us.....fanny and freddy wasnt their only mistake..they constantlly make big mistakes..NAFTA most probablly comes from the mistake of investing in Mexico in the late 60's and early 70's....they failed..the billions don't get paid back..and we pay for it working harder and&arder for less and less.....you ***** about pensions as being entitlement programs as if its wrong...yet they feel they are entitled to our money at the fed discount window anytime they need it even when they fail......it's my hunch that every time a bank changes names it has failed...loaned too muich....of our money and we pay for it and make up for it.....and you allow them to rule the way of our economics...banks buy each other to be able to keepo playing the same game of raking it in......they are not conservative...they are greedy gamblers........with our money.....they get their money from our treasury. not their own.

Companies fail and succeed all the time in capitalism.
If ABF fails, then they fail.

Question, can you ever get specific, or is all you can do is speak in broad, abstract generalities?

What specifics0do you want? I'd like some specifics on your championing of freedom in this particular situation. Let me geuss.....The rich business owners and investors get all the freedom they want.....and the working class and poor can do as they're told and shut uo right? That's our part of the deal right? The same kind of deal the native americans got, right? They teach capitalism to you the samne way they taught it to them.....and you go for it just like they did.....till your nation is stolen out from under you as is happening today.
