I am learning of this automatic 5th wheel kicker that decides when to disconnect (And throw away) a loaded trailer or Trailers in the event that the tractor might roll over.
If you are going to have a roll over stay connected and its easier to clean up the mess anyway. Once the trailer is gone then its going to kill people, crush things, main people and do all sorts of trouble with the Driver held responsible (And out of the Industry permanently). Just to keep the tractor from getting trashed. How stupid.
I can see situations where you are trying to drop trailers on terrain or slopes and the computer decides ok, toss the thing. Then what? Or perhaps tossing it when it rocks too much crossing a curb at a angle. Or or or. Computers are not perfect.
Without further ado... feast your eyes on this latest invention. The Liability for this is unacceptable. Courts will simply award the entire trucking company lock stock and barrel to anyone mashed by one of these loose trailers in 5 minutes.

Semi-truck's anti-rollover safety system demonstrated with jet engine blast
The Axicle TARS system is a detaching semi-truck coupling that releases a trailer in the event of an impending rollover, preventing the tractor from tipping with it.
