I own stock & I didn’t get a vote? This year I have been putting retirement money into the Roth 401K. I should take that same money and put it into company stock. I can vote "....NO...." more often then just once every five years.
I think the vote hasn't occurred yet.I own stock & I didn’t get a vote?
If the marker cap is 3.3 billion as you say, then controlling interest in the company is slightly over half that, approximately 1.65 billion, not over 5 billion as you say. Even at a premium over the current share price, say 2 billion would be the cost.In no particular order-
TFI just spent 1.1 billion dollars on Daseke, a flatbed conglomerate. That sale doesn’t close until Q2 of this year.
A purchase of Arc Best would likely be over 5 billion dollars. The market cap on just the stock is over 3.3 billion. Then there’s property and equipment and business value.
Finally just IMO- look how well the Yellow acquisition of Roadway, Holland etc went. They had a plan to be the biggest LTL in the world and they could never “realize” all the supposed cost savings. Where are they now? Bankrupt.
Actually there is no real "asking price", the sale price would be whatever price shareholders would accept for their shares.Whenever somebody asks "is (insert company name) for sale?" My answer is always the same. The question isn't whether they're for sale, it's is somebody willing to pay the asking price.

Well I’m a no vote….I think the vote hasn't occurred yet.
OK, no problem, keep practicing that "point conveying" stuff, you'll get better at it.I know how it works, I'm trying to convey a point without getting into every minor detail. Ted Dibase said "everybody's got a price".
