Look back in History of CF & the CCX scam , CF closed & CCX took off with growth !! , Never say Never in the trucking world !Strange gambit, buy a large union carrier, and then but a tiny non union regional carrier, and try to make it all non union. TFI should have just bought one of the many non union ltls, man, TFI executives are really . Not really, probably just purchased them for the real estate.
Well then the IBT needs to organize those employeesLook back in History of CF & the CCX scam , CF closed & CCX took off with growth !! , Never say Never in the trucking world !
Sure, when pigs fly.Well then the IBT needs to organize those employees
They are mostly TL along with volume LTL shipments. They will not be merged into TForce Freight, this was a play for TForce Worldwide ( TFWW) to spoon feed them volume. Most of you likely don't know about TFWW, time to do some research as the business they secure goes 93% to non union LTL carriers. What usually happens when a non union company gets bought by a union company is the non union employees( having no rights under contract) are let go if the companies merge.
Since this company is ltl and very small, tfi probably purchased them for their property, and plans to consolidate more terminals in the Midwest. The trucks are all white, so it looks like an easy rebrand. I suspect we will be hearing about some Midwest consolidation in the coming year.

Most carriers are non union, and brokers typically go with the cheapest carrier, they aren't concerned with anything else. They get hit hard with accessorial charges after the fact. Anytime I see a third party broker pickup or delivery I get the diad ready for the extra charges they didn't tell the shipper about. Typically, residential, lift gate, are rarely noted on the delivery or pickup request. They are mostly TL along with volume LTL shipments. The fact is 3PL's have way cheaper rates than all but the largest national accounts. They also get huge breaks on the accessorial charges compared to standard charges. A GlobalTranz, WWE, CH Robinson, Echo Global can give an LTL carrier literally hundreds or thousands ( CH Robinson) of shipments a day. Their volume drives massive discounting. Most carriers are non union, and brokers typically go with the cheapest carrier, they aren't concerned with anything else. They pay a pretty penny for a 4 pallet lift gate delivery after the fact , or a residential.
If Knight-Swift acquires ABF and renames TForce after the sale, it is possible they might make changes to the company. However, it is difficult to predict specific actions such as shutting down union terminals or the extent of coverage expansion. These decisions would depend on various factors and strategies employed by Knight-Swift.Knight swift has coverage there they need northeast and southeast coverage if abf settles their contract and he gets them i am curios if he renames tforce different name after sale to dump whats left of the former company
like hes starting fresh with abf sells the former ups now tforce to knight swift the coverage they need fresh food for thought buying that company i bet he will shutter union terminals in their area
You do understand it is not just paying for ABF. It also includes paying for the pension liability on top of the price to buy the company. If Knight-Swift acquires ABF and renames TForce after the sale, it is possible they might make changes to the company. KS is in the M&A business right now, as is T-Force, which might create some competition between the two should they set their sights on the same company in the future.Since when is Knight Swift buying ABF? And what would that have to do with TForce Freight?
