Anyone know if Central Trnsport is closing? I saw on a Facebook page for ltl drivers that they’re closing in a week. I’ve not heard anything pther than that post.

That's right! With a driver shortage of 80K, I am sure those over 2,000 will be working very soon! Best of luck!

Central Freight was formerly owned by Roadway Services who also owned Roadway Express, Robert's Express,Roadway Package Service, Viking Frt., Spartan Express, Roadway Global Air and Coles Express. Roadway Services was renamed Caliber Systems after they thru Roadway Express to the gutter hoping they would fail but instead had to sell off most of their other companies because they were failing financially. They didn't have the Roadway Express profits to siphon off anymore to sustain their other companies. Geeze, those union companies always caucing problems for big corporations.

Caliber as a whole was bought by FedEx. Central Freight was sold back to the original owners before that happened.
