at what point did these guys, gals
come to believe they had some sort of senority ?
co. or otherwise, there contractors
when the contractors finish my house
do I have to give them some sort of package
or a bottle and kick them to the curb ?

Didn't the majority of contractors leave when FedEx bought Watkins? A driver out Schaumburg said all but 7 left there when it became National

What are your talking about???? 99% of National drivers are company drivers....all drivers in the merger are company drivers. We do use a lot of contractors for running line but they are all going away when we merge.

No they are not......They will simply be called Power Only.....

When FedEx uses the R/R, is that power only? And, I do believe that all those guys over at FedEx Ground are Contractors. They will have some choices.

The O/O are not going anywhere, they have simply been reclassified as Power Only.....Mark My Words.

Our SCM told us they were doing away with all O/O's. Only time will tell?

I've pretty much been wrong about this merger up untill 1-3 weeks ago. Honestly thought it wouldn't happen, for years anyway. This is redundant info but "power only" "O/O's" Choose your term, and purchased freight will be used to controll empties out where theirs not enough freight to get equipment back to a happnin SC. (edit)>However merging the freight will hopefully result in more company hauld freight and less power only freight.

I can't see them doing away with purchase transportation for freight going one way and empties coming back, although us drivers don't mind it, LOL, but we were told they will do away with O/O's. IMO, I don't see us losing many, if any drivers, because there going to be needing that many more meet and turn drivers to get that freight across the country.

In Shamrock we only have about 45 company drivers, and have 185 runs..we are closing, and Mr. John Jones from corp. has told all the power only guys that they will be kicked to the curb.
