Asking for a friend but does anyone know how much a dolly weighs on the front? I know the counterweight makes it easier but the initial lifting force is what I’m trying to figure out? Some dollies are heavier than others but in general the lifting force should be about the same… any help would be appreciated

I guess if you were to take a dolly to the yard scale and just set the very nose on it ?
Put it on a fish scale with a rope and hope ya don't bust your scale ? Not sure but when
on ice it will hurt ya that's for sure.

The ones with the springs between the fifth wheel and the frame?

I liked workin with those. Light and easy to handle

The eagles are a far cry from those old monsters with crank landing gear on em

So not all dollies are created equal
I’m trying to find/figure out what the lifting force on the dollies…I know the road driver requirements say 100 lbs lifting force, wondering if anyone knows.

Well, it’s gonna vary depending on what exactly you’re dealin with

Some you can pick up the pintle eye with one hand, others not

I’d say a 100lbs would be more toward the heavier end of that spectrum

It varies. A lot.

D8100 are super heavy.

55000 Watkins were too heavy as well.

39 series are too light.

D5800 and D13s are about perfect.
D81xx early D82xx and the Canada 39xxxxx series of dolly seem made of tungsten or lead plated steel. Those things are way over built. Great if you need weight on a set of empties in high winds. The old red Watkins dollys would be perfect if they were counter balanced.
