The same night that we lost the Freight driver to the unfortunate accident, one of our drivers was in an accident as well. Luckily, he was ok but can not say the same for the driver of the car. The driver had to be removed with the JAWS and was alive during most of the extraction, however died at the scene before he was completely freed. Hard to think he made it at all. We (the agents at FDCC) are the ones who get the first call from the driver or authorities when this happens and it makes your heart stop when an accident call or a panic alert button goes off. I had just left before this happened, but got the media inquiry email early sat morning. whenever anything happens in FedEx land, we get an email directing all calls to our communications rep - thats always one way to tell something is happening somewhere in our company -- anyway, here is the link with pics and video:
