Line haul, at least where I'm at, pays a flat per run amount, been here 10 days or 10 years, pay is the same.
Pay on my run works out to be about .46c a mile, I run about 3200 miles a week
Now, some terminals seem to hire in new employees at a reduced rate, they're called combo drivers or something like that.
We don't have any of them at my terminal, so I can't give you any info on that aspect. Maybe one of the others on here could though.
Been doing my L/H run for several years now, no real complaints, other than I'd really like to get out the gate on time once in awhile.
It does have it's warts, no wait time pay, first 2 hours of a breakdown= no pay, depending on the run, you may be expected to run swaps etc......
That help?
