I'm a road driver & when I got to a hub & I'm at the gate, I shut the truck off & don't start it up until the guard returns with my paperwork & to retrieve the sign out sheet. I used to work as a seasonal feeder driver with UPS. At the gate, you gave the guard your paperwork & keys. You couldn't leave until the guard returned with your paperwork & keys.
