I hear everyday, we're done, blah blah blah.
I'm laid off road, hired back in 2003 for the 3rd time with this company. Now laid off road, now laid off from dock. But still working. I still bust my $ss on the dock and expect my co workers to do the same. The ones that don't, don't worry, I'll carry your lazy ***. Like I've done everywhere else I've worked in the last 20 some years as a teamster. The biggest crybabies are usually the ones who do the least. Spending most of the day as a social event, to cry and **** and moan about how they're getting screwed.
Man up, do you job and quit crying.
I blew out the lights at CF, I'll do it here too if need be.
FWIW, here's what I've had to do to get 20 years in. I've paid my dues in the business.
I've started at the bottom 5 times with 3 teamster companies and have worked at 8 terminals. 1988 CVE road, started and laid off. I had to cash in an IRA and get cash advances on my Visa card just to buy food the first time I worked and starved as a casual at Yellow Ashtabula in 1988. Just to get hired and laid off in 1992. Then the best 10 years of my life at CF till shutdown. I missed 2 days of work in 10 years. The best company I've ever worked for, miss the good times in Erie, Pa. Then ABF,
casual at 2 terminals. Was promised full time, didn't happen. Now working in my 6th year back at Yellow road. Laid off 4 of them and now laid off road, bumping to local cartage.
Which I hate doing, because it knocks everyone below me down a notch. I think maybe I've earned it with all the crap I've had to deal with the last 20 years. Now pounding the dock laid off with an 80 mile drive each way to work.
