I hear from some of the old farts that we used to have a pension many years ago. They gave it back to the employees years ago. It may all be a rumor but the ones that been with the company 30+ years seem to know something aout it. Like you said the pension is only good if you get to use it. Alot of companies had it at one time. I would rather not have it then rely on it and not get it.

I would rather be paid straight time at 50 hours then be promised time and a half and get 40 hours. .. But that's just me.

I don't know you and don't really want to pick a fight, but overtime minus 10% = staight time, all the time....
$22.70 x 40 = $908 + 10hrs OT @ $34.02 =$1248.20-10% = $1123.38
50 hrs straight x $22.50 = $1125.00 yep it looks about the same to me.

What is the problem with us being privately owned. Estes express is not the only business the Estes Family owns. How about the realty, take a good look at what they own around Richmond at the office buildings and leasing company, lest not forget the terminals around the country as we have grown. Estes must feel they do alright being conservative and they have proven it works for them and who says they have to do business like everybody else. Yes I work for the company as a road driver and very glad that I do, I'm happy to be here not looking for another job
