Memorial Day

This is MEMORIAL DAY. Today we don’t “celebrate.” We remember. We reflect.
This is MEMORIAL DAY. Today we are not “happy.” Today we are somber and mindful.
This is MEMORIAL DAY. Today is not about veterans. We love our veterans, but today is about honoring the ultimate sacrifice of 1.4 million Americans who never got the chance to be called veterans.
This is MEMORIAL DAY. Today is about the husbands, wives, sons, daughters, uncles, aunts, friends, and neighbors, who GAVE THEIR LIVES while defending this Nation and its Constitution.
This is MEMORIAL DAY. Today is about remembering the ones left behind; whose tear streaked faces we can see, but whose long lasting sorrow we often forget.
This is MEMORIAL DAY. Today is a day of PRAYER. Let us pray for the souls of the lost, comfort for the bereaved, and for the nation their sacrifice was made for.
And let us give thanks to God for giving us those brave souls who loved us so much they were willing to “lay down their lives for their friends;”
for there is indeed “no greater love.”

Thank You Jeff, for the reminder for what MEMORIAL DAY is really about. This DAY, most often gets mixed into all the other Military Holidays that we Americans celebrate, and many people have lost the true meaning of why it was created.
