Nemf Stinks

Funny, I used to peddle in nEpa/ny and everymorning I ran into nemf at the local coffe stop. And they said a couple times, they wished we had bought them to get into the teamsters(we were in the process of buying a couple companies then). Maybe thats an isolated area, but who knows.

i read an article today (8/12/07) in the NY Post stating that you guys are ranked 3rd as the biggest scofflaws of traffic tickets in NYC. maybe your boss can stop low-balling frt. prices and maybe he'll have enough to pay his parking tickets. everyone knows NEMF nearly hauls frt. for free :chairshot:

i don't care about the rates. privately held company, no vested intrest in the line of stocks and such. so as long as the checks keep clearing and the 3.8 cpm and 80 cents per hr raise rumor is true than if they're happy with their rates i'm happy with their rates.:deal:

you may not care and that is your opinion however, this will eventually be your company's downfall. remember G.O.D ? they did the same exact thing and look how they ended up ? :smilie_132: ! and not for nothing, you should care.

nothin i can do about it anyway, i'm just a no nothin driver.

will someone buy nemf and maybe they can get some real people that know what they are doing

NEMF is a DYING LTL company. They have lost so many customers and so much freight that I cannot see them surviving this economy. Always late, missing pick-ups, freight damages, rude customer service, ETC, ETC. This is why I applied at Yellow Freight as a casual, it is going to be tough at Yellow in the winter but I can no longer survive at NEMF! I have been there for 6 years and I have NEVER seen it this bad, but we lost a LOT of territory due to the new Terminal in Northeast, MD. We had more territory from the South Plainfield terminal for only 6 months but management totally BLEW it and South Plainfield got the territory back! That is why I am leaving NEMF, and so have other drivers and MORE to leave, what a shame! Nemf will go under very soon, SEEK other employment!

abboddon,

While there may be some issues (being addressed and corrected)........I do not think that going to Yellow is the answer!! If you think that damages, late freight and missed pickups are an issue...........your in for a dose of reality at Yellow. Remember as YRC pulls all of its carriers under one roof in the future, there are a bunch of other drivers that will push you out.

yup, and if you think losing a few miles of city territory is the end of the world, better have a defibulator available for COO (change of opperations). good luck.

Home Depot

The only thing holding NEMF up right now is Home Depot. If they lost the contract with them, NEMF would be in peril!I say this as a FACT because we have 1 huge account in Cherry Hill and 2 small accounts that are strictly **** Depot. Anyway, NEMF won't be around in the very near future.

Think what you wanna think. So many peeps in here trash talking NEMF.I get a paycheck weekly. The checks have NOT bounced. The check I get weekly pays my bills, puts food on the table for my family.
All you guys wanna do is complain.I am thankful for what I have.It may not be the perfect place to work. There is alot of crap that goes on.We all have our opinions which is fine.
I have worked at NEMF for 10 years and from day 1 have always heard they were shutting the doors.10 years later we are still here.I have seen alot of changes some for good some not so good.We roll with the punches and keep right on going and hope for the best.
Some of you need to relax and enjoy what you have.If you are so upset with your job then the market for truck drivers is a dime a dozen.Go out and truck it , as for me I am staying with NEMF until the big guy says it's time and I am gonna enjoy what I have.
Think what you all wanna think but the job isn't all that bad.

:chairshot: and you are going to have to stay not much that you can do on 50 grand
check that you get at the end execpt for putting it towards your funneral

What will you get in the end @ Nemf? A broken back with NO pension and a chitty 401K with very little $$$ to retire on. Sure, NEMF is a easy place to work, for I had it pretty good there. My terminal has changed dramatically, very little OT available anymore, and their contract is up in 2 years. Believe me, they are going to get SCREWED in 2009, so, that is why I have left. Just a few thoughts, hey, I could get screwed working @ Yellow, but, I am willing to gamble on a Teamster shop, just seems to me that there is a brighter future @ Yellow. On the other hand, America is in serious economic decline, just wait until they open the NASCO Highway, with dangerous Mexican truckers coming from Mexico ALL the way up to Socialist Canada, bypassing the ports in Long Beach, California and screwing the longshoremen there. If you don't believe me, just log onto spp.gov, A GOVT> website, and read on!!!

Yep, you r right..that could very well happen..but, I am willing to gamble on that...I'll do a shot of Jack and wish upon it..........
