Will it lead to more terminations ?
Every rule/policy that has been put in place here as been in response to some action. Like truck clocked at 90mph. This company like other trucking companies pay out 100 of millions of dollars every year in lawsuit. Any 1yr lawyer will win any case in which a truck driver is going 10+mph over the speed limit. We are suppose to be professional drivers and doing our jobs professional. I know for some of you it hard to do but some do it every day. This is really simple. Turnover just isn't high enough. So they are going to make it easier to fire people. And claim it safety consciousness. I don't know how there are terminals laying off. We cannot keep drivers. At all. As fast as we are losing customers. We are losing drivers even faster. But clearly. The system is just to damn driver heavy. So they are going to clean it out and get rid of more of us drivers. The computer model says you can make more money this way. More management and fewer drivers. This is going to be the number trucking company. Tony Brooks said so !!!!
Hell , we had a linehaul guy get 9 in one night ! Never missed a day ! Just got a talking , yes I said 9 !!!5 speeding strikes in a rolling 12 and you are terminated.
They must have been trying. That’s ridiculous!Hell

I do not understand all this whining. They put the the parameters out there that we as drivers must adhere to. They gave us fair warning that a certain number of strikes for over speeding, 3 or 5, whatever the number is will end in termination. We are supposed to be professional drivers. You know where the break is. You know how to take your foot off of the gas pedal. You know how to use a jake brake. If you get 5 over speeding violations maybe you're just too damn dumb to drive. This isn't rocket science folks. It's truck driving 101. Don't speed.Posts look like xpo removed the brake pedal
I heard the company is dropping the new speeding policy. Way too much union talk going on in the last couple weeks they didn’t want to push guys to it. Funny how that works. You guys can have a say. Just the threat changes your situation for the better.
Is it the composition of the tires? The tread pattern? A combination of the two? Or some other factor? It's interesting you blame this on union talk. But admit that this seemed an intentional temporary or momentary fix.
Regardless. If they honestly give a damn about safety at all. They need to fix these mutha trucking tires !!!!!
All it takes is light rain and I might as well pull off to the side of the road and consider the conditions impassable.
I had a great talk with our tire vendor. He comes twice a week to do tire checks. He said the closed shoulder tires are very hard and have a low rolling resistance, so they get better fuel economy. He then said they are the worst possible choice for single axle applications. We have been replacing them with an open shoulder aggressive lugged tire. The difference is night and day.Is it the composition of the tires? The tread pattern? A combination of the two? Or some other factor?

Well go to the left coast and thank California for that one on the tiresIt's interesting you blame this on union talk. But admit that this seemed an intentional temporary or momentary fix.
