ODFL | No Idle Policy!!!!

We do.But,OD has a no idle policy&the new computer's we have now show's how we drive the tractor's&we are scored now from long idle, over rpm, over speed,&when we take a pee..lol..The term's are putting up list everyweek&some everyday. They are pulling driver's in the office if you don't straiten up..Each term has a gold they are suppose to reach. They even know when you are speeding..They can even pull up on the computer now&google map down to where you were caught speeding if you want to argue with safety. The bottom line is saving fuel&money. It is working. The main thing is progressive shifting. So if you see a OD truck taking off slow&maybe going a little slower down the highway.Give the driver credit because we are trying. It is working&showing result's.
You guys dont have idle shutoff timers.

At Fedex Freight we have a similar computer, except it never works right and its only for city use. They dont routinely monitor what we do either. It sounds like you have better IT guys than we do!

most of the tractor's do cut -off within 5 min.But you will get a long idle if you let it run still for longer than 3 minutes .Your close to it..Od has there on IT guy's.They even do all the programing, etc. For example we use the peoplenet system .But,OD's IT department set's the program's up for our use.

does odfl have overspeed rule? conway over 75 3 times and your gone. fedex u can go as fast as you want.

T/M told me that we can roll down hill to about 74 but if you go above 75 he can't do anything to help you. They can also see how fast your going in any given area. If its a 45 mph zone they can see if your doing 65. To many excessive speeds in a night or week you'll get talked to by someone but not aware of anyone being fired......yet.
