:cuss:I think its bsshit about running on sunday and not friday night...I should call those who made that decision on sunday night at 6:00pm while their eating dinner with their families and I'm driving to work.:ranting2: Chicken sh!t mofos could'nt give us a weeks notice,( I thought this was a family oriented company)... my outbound supervisor called me 30 min after i left the terminal on thursday night...and they wonder why people are mad.

typical bs in the in the trucking industry. They're all the same. People ***** about not having work, but when it comes down to holidays and weekends they're not willing to work? And you get stuck. Any overtime or holiday pay? If so it may be worth it , otherwise tell them to stick it up their A$$
 
Nope, no holiday pay or any incentive to work on a holiday:tongue0002:. They think b/c the economy is bad they can take advantage of the situation. I have a clean mvr and ten years driving(I know that is not alot to you old timers), but i could still find a job. Don't really want to though. I put in 12-13 hours a day:Violin: just like all of the other guys on here and it is nice to be able to spend some time with mommy and the kids on the holidays. We all need just a little courtesy and respect. I don't think that is too much to ask:clap:.

I'd like to know if Rob knows all this ::shit:: is going down. Sometimes I don't think he does. Jr. needs to start setting his foot down on some of these people that are making these calls.Everybody at my barn was full Friday night coming back.We had 8 in bound trailers and 2 didn't run.All of us brought trailers back with 40+ bills on 'em.:TR10driving03:

if jr or rob knew how dumb lets say,,, the planner is or some of the dumb stuff going around i think [hope] heads would roll.
 
Well being back where I started at this company after almost 8 years of service and back out on the Extra Board I kind of like this no Weekend work thing.
At least they are getting me in by Saturday mornings now, man that first month was rough not getting home till late Saturday night and one time Sunday morning.
I'm sorry to wine but getting used to being gone all week is tough when I used to only be gone 2 days out of the week.

As far as you Hub guys working on Sunday, well I would love to have one of our Hub runs and would be glad to work today. But like I have said before lose all my Seniority if I did ever take a Hub Run, No thanks.
 
well I thought I was going to be off since I am E/B and got in on Sat. am. Got a call from the TM begging me to cover for a hub driver tonight. Got to love it!
 
I gotta go north again. I would rather go to Miami with no pay than to go north for top dollar. (I know... I'm starting to sound like those boy's on the other forum) No offense to you'all who live above the Mason Dixon.
 
i really hate to be this guy....but, quit complaining. I have worked every sunday for the last 4 years. i have a family and many of the same obligation you other guys have, but you will never hear me complain about my job. My job pays my bill, feeds my family, and allows me to do a lot of things that i enjoy. i realize that i am an employee of estes express lines that is not yet in a position to make operational decisions. therefore i am aware that on occasion things are not going to go my way and there may or may not be any notice. thats part of the job. be a man, suck it up, and get on the right team _ cause guess what..... the pool of people looking to replace you is getting bigger by the day!

Hope you had a good Easter BB. I know I did. But one thing always comes out of Easter. I always eat too many eggs and I pay for it on Monday.Anybody got any "liquid cork".Man, I need it in the worst way.:biglaugh:

obviously easter has no meaning to you. I would not have worked yesterday for anyone ( exception if I were in the military protecting the USA ). Not only that when there is no weekend work for E/B why all of a sudden they want E/B to work Sunday? i hope Rob E had no knowledge of this and he should have forced us closed for the day.
We are all employees of E lets not start :shit:ing on some and not others. And I am not E/B nor do I see anytime in the future I would have to go E/B but still its not right
 
From what I understand is easter holiday was switched for, I think memorial day. This happened some years back and correct me if I am wrong but I believe there was a vote on this. And for what its worth Im sure Mr. E is well aware of what goes on in his company.

I do not know of the vote seeing how I was GI. As far as Rob goes I do not belive a man of faith would work anyone on such a glorious day. Please remember this is my view on this

I totally agree about having to work on easter, I had to go out sunday and I aint diggin it but I guess the frieght has got to move . I wish they would have maybe asked for volunteers . oh well
