A couple of days before leaving together for USMC bootcamp in the summer of 1969, my buddy and I decided we should take our Mothers out. So the four of us had dinner at a Big Boy Restaurant and then on to the movies to see, Easy Rider. I still remember the look on my Mother's face when the theater lit up and the song Born to Be Wild played early on in the movie.Oh wow, bummer news. I must have seen "Easy Rider" about five or six times when it first came out in 1969 and many more times over the years since then. It was the impetus for my 2-1/2 month, 14,000+ mile motorcycle ride around the US and Western Canada in 1971. Sad news especially so coming on the 50th anniversary of Woodstock. 1969 was a very special year in my life for many reasons. Ride on for sure Peter!
