first things first i saw a posting on here that started out by saying something to the effect "this may not be an issue for some" ( not exact words but something like that) so i will respond with this... this contract is not about ME its about US and while one particular issue may not be as important to me as it is to some i will stand behind everyone that we ALL get a good contract.. Yellow freight--- once again ( and its been coming for years) it looks like yellow is at the end of their run (i encourage everyone to google "teamsters yellow" and read the article put out by wall street ) just realize how insanely busy we are going to be if/when yellow is done and how much ABF will reap from it and its definitely too bad that its going to happen but anyone who thinks they can honestly rebound and pay off well over one BILLION dollars in debt is honestly living in a fantasy world -- while i will admit this is one of the best contracts i have ever seen and ive been at this since the 80s it still needs tweaking -- we should be making at least $35.00 per hour now and we still wont be there in another 5 years and in regard to the supplements in the contract there is ALOT of little language that needs to be re-worded for todays times and not the 50 plus years ago that is originally put into play --- in alot of cases there is language that will benefit everyone and still wont cost abf a dime so why cant we get these issues addressed ---- im really not telling anyone how to vote but i will say DO YOUR HOMEWORK do not just look at the economic package and let that decide yes/no look at the ENTIRE package and make your decision from that
and please lets get a good turnout and everyone take the time to vote regardless of the outcome PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO VOTE

World Socialist Web Site.

The World Socialist Web Site (WSWS) is the website of the International Committee of the Fourth International (ICFI). It describes itself as an "online newspaper of the international Trotskyist movement".

We're bankrupt.
We can't pay our bills.
Shut it down!
Close the gates!

If you don't like your ABF contract you can leave!
And come on over to Yellow.
I can't tell ya how great it makes ya feel.

That's the Yellow/IBT way of negotiating

Why do people insist on comparing us to UPS?
They are a different business, and make much more profit than abf makes.
They make 2.5 billion a quarter
When abf is making that kind of profit we will be able to get those wages.
