I left the co. last June 12th. I reapplied the middle of this April this year. I had a couple of bud's drop a line to the one's doing the hiring and didn't hear anything for a couple of weeks. At that point i was calling twice a week trying to reach the man doing the hiring. After a half dozen calls and 3-4 messages i finally got a hold of him and he said he's look into it and i never heard anything back. At that point i basically gave up until i seen an ad on careerbuilder. I knew then they were having issues finding qualified help. So i called the man again and was rushed in 2 days later where after a road test and very short interview i was told i was being hired and that the next step was to order a mvr. The guy who hired me told the hr lady in front of me that i only had 4 days left until my year being gone was up. She grinned and said that policy had changed effective June 1st,2010.

So here's my problem....Everyone who i've spoken to,including the man that hired me,has no clue the policy had changed. Can anybody shed some light on this? I feel like i'm getting screwed because i served FXF for over 9 years with zero problems. 2 city and 7 road. My employee # is the same it was when i originally hired with AF in June of 2000. This is real fishy. They're treating me as a new guy rookie. I know policies are there for a reason but i feel this one is just plain wrong. FXF will save $$$ with the earned knowledge i've gained over the years. I've done some math and looks like i'll be loosing roughly $225-$275 a week the first year and so on for the second and third.

Later....

OUTSIDER,,,Welcome to the New FDX.FRT.,,,Where Policy change is like a roll of "Toilet Paper" good for 1 purpose, wiping your A$$ with it.

In all seriousness, it does'nt surprise me, especially with not forwarding the new policy to the Hiring guy, it's like your supposed to look in the puter every day and see what policies have changed overnite.

I say bite the bullet and just go with the flow. FDX is a Major player in the transportation business now, and we all know that, for you to be able to just to get your foot back in the door is an accomplishment. :shift:

Welcome back, but sorry you left, I understand you know the job. Lets say you went R&L or UPS Freight, basiclly the job is the same, but would you go to top pay on 1st day???? NO. So why should you start back where you left.

Correction...I quit on my fifth day. I was called on my fifth day after only being off duty 7 hrs. and told i was running a LIT meet. The day b4 i was told not to plan on getting to run until friday night. So i went home and stayed up so I'd sleep in to be ready to run that night. 7am i get the call after 2 hrs sleep so i said @#$#@ it. I went back to bed knowing i quit. Ky called me that afternoon and practically begged me to come in that afternoon and do a couple of city switches and then do a short road run. No thanks. There was a reason i left the Co. last year...I hate LTL but like ltl money. However i have a business that's doing 3x better than a 2800 mile + week pays. I just hate paying big money for health insurance. Looking back at the f'd up hrs the road offers I'm glad to shell out $$$ for heath coverage [it's my new tax shelter]

Fed875....I know who you are and the time i spent in road dispatch doing my CBE's i learned your the laughing stock. The dispatchers think your a joke, some drivers too. Tattoos and bleaching your hair. You sir should spend more time looking in and less time speculating about others like me. You and 3 of your FXF buds couldn't touch my wages. Doesn't that suck for you. Good luck when the economy tanks and they do a realignment and you get squeezed out of a great paying job. That almost happened to me back in the summer of 08' and i had like 27 drivers under me but most of them had more co. time though.

Outsider you have the wrong person. I have never dyed my hair and only have one tattoo the nobody can see. Your the joke of a person and when I asked what kind of person you were everybody laughed about you. Even your so called friends, the few that liked you. Read your past post you flip flop so much on what you say. All I have to say to you is good riddens.

I shouldn't be on here arguing back and forth with a few miserable drivers but i like a good argument. My pizzeria is currently running in the top 3 in a local Indy news channel best pizza contest. I take a 30% draw [writing a paycheck to myself] basically and yeah it's really good money. However, i pay 875 bucks a month for health coverage for my family and myself. I also work 7 days a week and put in 70-80 hrs and pay est. income taxes every 3 months. And no i dont make 5300.00 a week. It's more like 3500.00. It use to be a ton more, but sales are way down. Hell, I'll show you my schedule C. When i returned to FXF i planned to sell the business just to get some piece of mind. To be honest, i physically can't do it anymore. A couple of years ago i was diagnosed with cervical disk protrusion[2 herniated disk] with bone spurring and arthritis. After working the dock a couple of days that first week back my neck hurt so bad i was about in tears. The pain also causes panic/anxiety attacks. Cause sometimes the pinched nerves makes my left arm and pinkie/ring finger hurt. it also sends sharp pain down the front of my neck feeling like a heart attack.. I was a fool to think i could come back and be able to do it. Thats the only reason i decided to open a restaurant back in 08' cause 2 specialist decided against surgery.

Anyways I'm out. Only reason i responded was to correct someone claiming i got fired. Buckle up men cause with this economy we're all in for a bumpy ride.
