SO FAR THIS IS THE ONLY INTELLIGENT THING I HAVE SEEN ON THIS THING.
RIDE THE SHIP TIL THE END THAT IS ALL YOU CAN DO.

Nope, it's NEVER all your can do!
For one, we can start resumes and checking who's hiring(in my case I have to--I'll probably be laid off by Mid-November)....(And by the way-- no one in LTL seems to be, we're ALL slow). This isn't the end of the World. If Yellow makes it, we're in a great job. If it doesn't, possibly it opens new opportunities in other fields we'd never have explored. When Preston closed in the morning of July 26th, 1999, I called my wife to tell her. She told me-- "Good thing it happened in the morning, you've got the rest of the day to find something just as good!" She was right-- within 5 hours I had 3 jobs offers, and landed here at Yellow. IF Yellow/ Roadway/ Holland/ New Penn goes down, the freight will still need moved by someone. Freight Lines will be hiring. That's a LOT of freight. Get in line now for those jobs, regardless of your intent to leave or not. The Boy Scouts are "Always Prepared."
I always (Since Preston) keep a list of at least 6 jobs I can go to with a moment's notice. Even with that, things are slow here. Some of them are Jobs I'd do to not starve, but they aren't Careers. Things that would put food on the table while other things lined up. Don't ignore anyone. You might surprise yourself with some of the answers.....
Number two: Begin if not already, to set up a plan to reduce debt; do not buy new things on credit that requires a payback in the near future. Sell things extra that only cost money that are seldom used.
Number Three (perhaps most important) We can PRAY!!!!!!
This is a time for wisdom, not panic.....lay the groundwork for your Future.......it never hurts.
