My guess is that after the misfortunes with the Maxxforce engines, that International may have cut Saia a good deal on these tractors, it's a win win for both, International is selling trucks to them again and if anything Saia will be able to test the Cummins motors, not sure if ever if Saia has ran Cummins power, I am sure one of the veterans of the company can answer that, considering the fact that both Freightliner and Volvo offer Cummins as well, this could be a economical way for the company to gather performance and reliability data on the Cummins for future tractor purchases and a different engine option, just because they bought some more Internationals doesn't mean Saia will stick with them.
