Six Steps to Safe Backing

1. Back only when necessary
2. Get out and look (GOAL)
3. Back immediately and scan area constantly
4. Minimize the back
5. Back on the driver side
6. Back at idle speed & sound horn every 3 seconds

Most of us are already acquainted with these 6 steps, and are using them in our daily backing routine. But it isn't a bad idea to re-fresh our memory on them. You never know when you might be asked if you know them.

I always forget 1 or 2 steps when asked.:duh:

There's technically 10 rules of safe backing.

Some very silly acronyms that might make it even harder to remember the 6 rules.
