I gave up on NASCAR about 3 years ago with all their so-called rules.My cousin Steve was a race tire engineer for Firestone back in the 1950's and 60's and was in the pits at all the big races evaluating Firestone tire performance. At the April 1964 Trenton 100 he brought me into the pits after the race where I met and got autographs of many big name racers of the time. In 1963 he and Tiny Lund and some others rescued Marvin Panch from his burning car at a race in Daytona. They were awarded the Carnegie Medal for Heroism.
