New pay day starts April 3 announced today. Get your pay check 2 days early
I agree in not unveiling business plans. Con-way did have consistent communication though.I agree with everything you said, but you seem to have missed my point. Tell me, did Con-way give advance notice before they sold us out to XPO? Of course not because they knew that drivers would leave in droves. Why should the company tell us anything of it's future intentions? Honestly, if I were CEO of XPO and was thinking about selling it off or buying a competitor, the last people I'd tell would be my most valuable assets, the drivers.
There is an internal memo out stating that the pay increase will be announced early to mid 2 nd qtr. that puts it in the April through May area.My thought on the lack of communication from upper management about compensation - sure a raise is coming , but by not being specific about it allows XPO Logistics leadership to make adjustments up to the last minute. Hell , they have left open the option to not even offer a raise.
The question is , in these prosperous times ( for large corporations ) why play games with your workforce like this?
Over the last several years , you can't even pin the upper management down on when a raise may occur. A courtesy that you see given to workers all around you. Really odd.
By the way Chris B. (ret.) was the VP that mentioned that a raise was coming ( back in October I think ) said it was on the books and the company simply had to wrap up things for the fourth quarter.
Very true. Fedex frt is making the most in my area but I heard the insurance is no better than ours. Ups frt has better insurance but they're union and they're ups. Not sure about od and any body else. When comparing hourly wages you have to compare all factors time and half rules , cost of healthcare, available overtime, ect. Merely looking at at top hourly rate for each company is misleading
That is not enough to cover the increases in our insurance. That is not going to make many stay or many want to start here. There is an internal memo out stating that the pay increase will be announced early to mid 2 nd qtr. that puts it in the April through May area.
There is another reason for its delay and that they are trying to bait a union location into decertification by holding a pay raise till they do so .
There will be a pay raise either way and your probably looking at something in $1.40 area give or take a little. Also some terminals will get more based on reclassification of their areas. This raise is a little more complicated by the above mentioned factors.
That is not going to make many stay or many want to start here.
I seem to remember the top and entry scale being raised and the middle tiered guys getting screwed. In the last couple years, wasn’t there at least one year where only the top scale drivers received the raise ? I seem to think the lower tier pay rates didn’t get anything.
I do know there was a year where only the drivers got a raise but management and csrs did not.
It will be interesting to see who gets what and how much, if anything.
Again the amount I put forth is speculation not something I heard. That is not enough to cover the increases in our insurance. That is not going to make many stay or many want to start here.
Yes that is true . In the last 2 union votes the company found reason to offer money just prior to the votes. They suddenly determined the workers were not being paid the correct amount for their area cost of living . Hmmm that was convenient. Try it .. it works!I remember some terminals getting a bigger raise a couple of times . Now those terminals make more than a dollar per hour more. There is s terminal in N.Y. that threatened to vote union in November and got a 65 cent raise . Only terminal to get it.
They got two bucks one last year and another this spring.I remember some terminals getting a bigger raise a couple of times . Now those terminals make more than a dollar per hour more. We heard the Estes drivers got a big bonus this year. They spent it on deer catchers for all the tractors. Drivers didn't seem to think that was a very good bonus.
Anyone think we will hear something before end of month about raise?
I don’t want the ot policy to change (except to include those in the south), but any change will not affect those of us on linehaul.
Yes.It won't effect your check, but you will be effected.
It might effect you when a driver above you that’s been bidding the city for years but has been kicking around the idea of bidding the road gets that push of no OT till 50 and bumps you down a spot.I don’t want the ot policy to change (except to include those in the south), but any change will not affect those of us on linehaul.
