I admit, I got a good laugh. But damn..

Literally anyone with a pulse. They will hire ANYONE now. And do whatever to keep them. We have a probationary who in his first week missed 3 and a half days of work. They just let him start his 30 days over again. They cant drive, dont want to work a dock, expect a prime start time with volume runs, show up late, want a new tractor. And they cater to these guys because they cant find anyone else.

You are 100% correct , they are hiring anybody ,we have guys that can't drive forklift , and can't back up and best one is a few can't go to any prison's or federal military base's to delivery because they have "FELONY" records that won't allow them on federal property !! BUT we still hire them ??? We are bottom feeder company now days !!

No dock?
Prime start times?
Volume runs?
New tractor?
Hell. I should quit here and go to Holland if they will give me all that. I can even back up!!!

That sounds like my sterling. It's also low on brake fluid, and the left side brake pedal doesn't do squat. Imagine how felt the first time i drove a "new" international. I didn't even know what that lever was for on the shifter. Sure quieted down when flipped it, hell i could shift 4 more times!

i havent been around as long as most of you, only around 3 yrs with holland but they hire on average 1 per week all yr long at our terminal and even though alot of our guys say this very same thing it just isnt true...its a number game, they will keep hiring and alot of them will be fired or quit but they ARE recruiting and retaining people from what i can see. the people theyre recruiting arent the best,obviously..but the company is a billion in debt and they do NOT offer the best pay or even a pension..so..

the ones that arent quit or fired arent the best but they are "ok" USUALLY. as far as that writeup, its funny but he probably just wanted a different truck and thats one way to do it.

they have a large hiring quota that theyve set and theyre going to keep hiring for awhile, currently we have over 200 on the board with the new people, with the amount of overtime we work they could literally keep hiring for years at this rate.

Heard you were getting a few from the place at 52nd and Mill . Heard they can't backup for nothing.

p.s. every time i use the right side turn signal the trailer brakes lock up

I see Holland is hiring OTR in Atlanta. Could someone please give me any information on pay or anything else relevant. Like what the Typical week would be, any dock work?
I have seen your posting about new hires. I have 27 years driving experience over 3.5 million safe miles.
I have tanker hazmat and double/triples endorsements. Thank you in advance for any information.

Mediocre employees are not fired since their managers know they can't recruit better ones anyway.:6788:

You are way too experienced with way too many qualifications, go find yourself a good job with a good future and a good pension or 401K. Unless you failed to tell us you have several drunk driving convictions or have committed several felonies recently you can do much better!
You are way too experienced, you can do much better! Unless you forgot to tell us you were just released from prison or something like that you can do much better! Good Luck!
