It well be interesting what XPO's pay & benefit package is ??? every buyout I have seen over the years , the company that got bought out got the screwing !! just look at what Yellow did to Holland & Roadway & New Penn & Reddway pay scale & benefits !!!! Good Luck Driver's !!

Maybe hello linehaul. They didn't buy us for us not to move freight. I am hoping we may become a carrier where drivers drive, trucks that is, not forklifts. Why buy us if not run us?

Actually I see linehaul increasing. The next day and two day lanes are very attractive to his other assets. Will he continue to operate a full city P&D operation when his precious blue chip freight is sitting in a warehouse ? That's the big question.

What does organizing have to do with us getting sold? We don't know anything about our new company. I had never heard of them before Wednesday.

Another question was bids. With the sale coming in late October, will we have a bid season this year ?
I would guess that things.will stay pretty much the same. All LTL carriers bid. I don't think anyone will care what they are pulling as long as they are moving and grooving.

What was brought up was that it would be difficult to run a bid change so close to the acquisition. And then would we have to wait a year to bid again if things changed drastically. And the way this guy operates, things may change drastically immediately if not sooner.
I would guess that things will stay pretty much the same in the short term while they get things lined up. We still have 10s of thousands of customer to take care of, regardless of what XPO brings to the table.

Yeah, exactly. He is a cut and gut slash and cash specialist. We will all know soon enough. We got a month at least before the sale is finalized. Plenty of time to get ducks in a row.

Right. And we have all been talking about the FedEx model. They have dedicated runs with independent contractors. And then they have the hub runs for company drivers that fluctuate to much to contract out reliably.
I read in the explanation of why XPO bought us that they wanted to reduce the amount of purchased transport. They now own 12000 tractors and employ 16000 drivers. They did not buy is to sit us.
