I heard XTO received 400,000 lbs through XPO on a deal involving seeds. It doubled their out-bound operation for the day! I hope this is what we are all in store for...

And we were turning down shipments over 20,000 pounds....Can you imagine the dispatcher trying to find drivers for all of that ?
If that is true that would amount to about 13 heavy sets. I hope it is not just a rumor but a taste of what is to come.I heard XTO received 400,000 lbs through XPO on a deal involving seeds. It doubled their out-bound operation for the day! I hope this is what we are all in store for...

I heard Bloomington, IL had 144,000 lbs given to them yesterday from XPO Logistics that they couldn't get moved. From what Brad Jacobs is saying so far, our future sounds brighter as drivers than listening to the old days of "fat beard" trying to eliminate linehaul. It can't hurt to run our fleet at capacity. They certainly know how to do things profitably. He doesn't have to worry about lining up o/o for his logistics loads now.... Big load like this, funnel it through the Conway system where the infrastructure is already in place.

Are you saying that money doesn't come from Lean?Exactly. We need some good hard evidence that he will immediately improve this place. Drivers respond to money. Money comes from freight. We need a lot more freight.
Are you saying that money doesn't come from Lean?
We do.All the extra freight is fine.....if you have the equipment and drivers.
xpo has to understand...you cant dump big weight on a barn without notice. you have a finite number of dsr's at night. doubling a barn's outbound is a failing move.
It sounds like his "testing" the system might also be testing the local management team also. I'd recommend that they find a way to pickup and move his freight on time.
Otherwise........
We don't want to hurt the numbers by having to pay over-time... (The old Con-way model).
