We still got a bunch of Jiffloc tractors seen any Jiffs in your travels? No need for them. They're just going to increase the tire pressure on the single axle tractors.

Shuttle drivers will let you know. When are all these new tandem tractors coming in to handle all these heavy containers?

You must be extra careful when doing this, you may not clear a 13'6" bridge
BTW, always maintain 15mph to be safe.
I pull containers out of 318, right up 55 to Willow with 50,000, and I never have a problem while driving my tandem.I've hauled up to 32,000lbs with a single axle still scaled legal!

http://www.kwikloc.com/the-kwik-loc.htmlRumor has it, jiffs are to be used for transporting peanut butter only.
I have good news and bad news!!
Bad news,YRC just ordered 500 Freightliners with jiffs.
Good news, they will only use white grease, it doesn't show as bad on your clothes.
Good old Lubriplate white grease!
How about trying to hook these up at a dark terminal in the middle of a snow storm with potholes a foot deep in the yard? No wonder they had so many industrial injuries!Do they still make Lubriplate?
I still have nightmares about these things.

that's the good stuff.. not the environmental crap that's out there now with a use by date on itSure seems like it

I learned from an old time mechanic to use white Lubriplate grease on crankshaft/camshaft bearing surfaces, etc. on engine rebuilds. Helped provide good lubrication on the initial startup before oil got pumped through the dry engine block. I still have a small can of the stuff from the early 1960's.
I strongly support expiration dates on beer.that's the good stuff.. not the environmental crap that's out there now with a use by date on it
