Express and Freight are the ones not making the numbers. National, well I will not go there. Ground is running at around 37 I heard (63% OR)
We were told they were running a 89 OR. A 63 would be SHOCKINGLY good. Not to mention unheard of in the industry.
after reading that I see only a few things happening 1 fxn ceases to exist or a lot of lay offs in freight wait and see I guessYou got it, Swamp.
According to the earnings release, Ground is running an operating margin of 10.9%, up from 9.9% the previous year.

The 90% tax is for those that take bonuses from companies that have been bailed out with our tax dollars. Failing companies shouldn't be paying bonuses, spending millions on a new jet or new offices for top executives.
What we are going through has been building for a long time not just last 9 weeks.
Well , Now stop and think a minute ....How many Red Shirts do you see walking around holding a clipboard doing NOTHING ? How many stnd on the ramp smoking cigs and drinking coffee ? How much money can Fedex save by doing away with this ?

They already reduced FREIGHT a lot. NATIONAL will be merged with us within months. The longer freight is slow the quicker the merger will be. It is the only move that makes sense.
This is just my opinion. I don't think FXN will ever be merged with FXF. I get why most think FXN would become FXF but I don't agree.
FXF is sold as a product to our customers with faster service times at a higher cost. FXN is sold as a lower cost product where service times are not so critical. WE have customers in our region that use both. Our city drivers (FXF) pickup for both companies, then we ship it to a cross over point.
If FXN became FXF we would loose a valuable product line and that part of the market share.

Through the years FedEx has tweaked and tuned our service to provide faster and then again faster service. Guaranteed, Expedited and AM services.
How hard would it be to slow down part of our service to provide another "product"?
They've already combined the sales part of the operations. Only a matter of time.........
I don't believe they will merge our boards. I think it will be a facilities merger, that is NATIONAL will move into FREIGHT facilities where possible and the service standard from FREIGHT will apply to all destinations currently served in 2 days or less. NATIONAL service standards will apply on 3 or more days origin to destination. Just an opinion. This is just my opinion. I don't think FXN will ever be merged with FXF. I know its part of the old rumor mill, but ive heard from quite a few meet drivers that FXF & FXN are going to merge sooner than later. my question is how, watkins co seniority? then what, were going to use their contracted OTR drivers to haul our freight?
Why is it that rumors are never good ones? Ive worked here(americam/fxf) a long time, can someone please start a rumor that will make me feel good & secure in my job.
