FedEx Freight | Are we merging or not?

Some of you say it cost less for owner opps to move our freight but, i seen where there was a hot am shipment haz mat and the driver did not have a haz mat endorcement, missed service and the freight cost the company. How can these contractors run haz matt with no endorcements?

As long as it doesn't have to be placarded it doesn't matter if they have the endorsement or not.
 
Wow....How much more wrong can one statement be? I find it amazing that the purchase trailers that we load out of the hubs are selectively labeled "NO HAZMAT" because the driver who is waiting for the load does not have a Hazmat endorsement. At Least they now ask beforehand. I remember many a time where we'd wrap up loading the purchase trailer and when the driver was handed the bills, questions what the red sheet and the red tags were for. We say it's to distinguish the hazmat and he'd come back with..."I don't have that endorsement" We then would have to commando crawl through the pig and back strip all the bad stuff off just to get him out the door. Holy Shmoly!
 
Just heard a supervisor said this morning that we are going to have our quarterly meeting wednesday during our preshifts but doubts any earth shattrting news.
 
If it is not a RQ - reportable quantity - it does not require a Hazmat endorsement to be transported...

Hazardous Materials (H) Endorsement
or a
Hazardous Materials/Tank (X) Endorsement

You must have a commercial driver's license (CDL) with a hazardous materials endorsement before driving vehicles carrying hazardous materials which require placards. You must pass a written test about the regulations and requirements to get this endorsement.

anyway.......in Atlanta they are simply told not to load hazmat on purchase trailers.....simple stuff, really.

The 15th will come and go with no big announcement. At least not to us underlings. If we merge, they will merely update the employee what you can get fired for handbook and rebid.

Yep.......guys, we've been around long enough to know that FX doesn't do drama.......little by little, bit by bit is how they roll.
