You mean 14 ft. high. I think he was pulling you leg. It's my understanding that anything over 13'6" would be over height and I believe you have to have a special permit in many states to pull thoseAfter seeing a Knight trailer peeled open like a sardine can, I called a buddy of mine who works there. Since we don't live in a perfect world and you get hooked to one perhaps by mistake, the 7000 series trailers are 14 footers.

I'm not say it didn't happen it just strikes me as odd.Have you seen the Knight trailer at CGB? It was empty and attempted to go under a 13' 10" bridge. The trailer was a 7000 series, and I've been told that they're supposed to go straight to the rail yard since they can only be pulled in Mississippi according to an older driver.
There hasn't been much talk about it, which leads me to believe that it wasn't the drivers fault. I took a look at the trailers a couple of times and I didn't see anything that says how high they are. Like I said, we don't live in a perfect world and mistakes happen. How many drivers have been dispatched mistake free?
How you use the information is totally up to you.
It's not 14 foot high now, is it?After seeing a Knight trailer peeled open like a sardine can, I called a buddy of mine who works there. Since we don't live in a perfect world and you get hooked to one perhaps by mistake, the 7000 series trailers are 14 footers.
The overpass leading to the Tri-State on 95th St. is 13'10"If they are 14' how are they going to even get them to the rail yard. As I recall most of the rail yards in CGB have over passes that you have to go under to get to them don't they?

Sometimes they asphalt under overpasses and forget to fix the signs, especially in Chicago . . .
Years ago when I worked for Swift, we had 14ft trailers. They were clearly marked with labels and a special map that highlighted what states they could be pulled through. We used them here in California without any problem ever. Unfortunately without the labels there was no way by just looking at them you could remotely tell they were 14 ft high.
