Compared to the YRCW contract ,This is miles a head .At this stage in the game it’s all about the pension and insurance contributions .Theres no tomorrow without contributions today.
Being miles ahead of the YRC is not a major accomplishment. You're right... it's all about pension and insurance and no pension increases during the next 5 years will end up affecting every single pension fund in some way... shape or form on down the road. And if the majority of members accept this contract... they will only have themselves to blame.
Sorry to tell you , but even if the pension cap was removed, abf couldn't save these pensions alone. This isn't rocket science
