To: All YRC Regional Transportation Employees
Over the years, USF Reddaway and USF Holland have built strong reputations
for being leading providers of high quality next-day and second-day regional
service. The outstanding service quality and on-time delivery performance they
provide are only possible because of the quality of their people and the design of
their regional networks. Protecting that level of service and quality is one of the
most important things we must do – and at times it means making some difficult
decisions.
Today, we are announcing the planned shutdown of six USF Holland service
centers located in Albany, GA; Jackson, MS; Lumberton, NC; Little Rock, AR;
Mobile, AL; and Metter, GA; and all 21 of the USF Reddaway service centers
located in Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. The decision to close
these facilities was difficult, but necessary.
The six USF Holland service centers are on the fringe of the company’s territory
and represent only a small portion of their business. USF Holland continues to
serve over 95% of the population within its new 21-state service area. The 21
affected USF Reddaway locations have not measured up to our service and
profitability standards. USF Reddaway can now focus on their new 11-state
footprint, and western Canada, where they have a proven track record of
success.
After the closures, the USF companies will continue to offer customers indirect
service into these points through other resources within the YRC North American
Transportation group of companies. Additionally, the affected USF employees
may apply for open positions at other YRC Worldwide locations. Specific details
will be made available to these employees.
USF Holland and USF Reddaway are strong companies and these changes will
allow them to focus on their core areas and strengths. Providing a consistent,
high-quality service is absolutely key for us to remain a leading provider of
solutions that meet the stringent requirements of our regional customers.
Thank you for your effort, hard work and dedication in providing our customers
with best-in-class service.
