Just got a call, have an interview on Wednesday. !!!!! Now I just gotta rock this interview.
Congrats, its the first step! Good luck to you and let us know how it turns out. Have a great weekend celebrating the 4th everyone!
Indeed, all have a safe 4th!!
Hope all the drivers were able to get home on time for holidays.Busting butt past 2 days to get freight moving so drivers don't get stranded over holiday weekend.
Expect to work when you come to ADP, if your looking for a 40hr work week, you won't find it here!
looking for as much work as I can get actually.
You got that right
Another busy week in the books. Saw that there is a position for line haul at WC terminal ,applied and also been talking to my supervisor about the school. HR emailed me asking if I have spoke with my supervisor about my interest in the school. I know there is a class going on now but don't know how many weeks they are into it.Talked with another dock employee and said that 2 outbound dockworkers are in it but they still in process of getting thier license. So we will see,you all have a good weekend!!
Also, I had my interview, it couldn't have possibly gone any better. We talked for almost 2 hours; Operations Manager. He couldn't officially say I got the job because he had to run it by his boss (who was on vacation last week). But, he more or less told me I got one of the 3 positions they're hiring for inbound dockworker. He had me take the next step while i was there after my interview in order to "get the process moving more quickly"; all the background /drug test/ schooling paperwork, and I had to take the "i'm not a lunatic true/false" computer test. He said I should hear from NAte Miller around Tuesday for the drug test. :) I'm pretty Gosh Darn Excited. I'll let you know when I get the 'official' call. PS: how long was orientation?
The first day you show up. You spend about 2.50 hrs to 3 filling out paperwork(also on conference call with other terminals with new hires) while filling out paperwork and go over policies & procedures. And watch movies about the company & non union video.
You get a training book they go over and show you how they want things done on the dock. So the first week your with someone training. It's not that bad, just read the manifest ,Pro #,zipcode,# of pallets or PCS, WEIGH UR FREIGHT and move to proper trailer or floor location.
Let me now how it goes and what is the job description of Inbound DkWKR compared to OB.
any news ??
so did you ever hear back about the job ??
Yup. I start dock work Aug 1st :)
Congrats!!!What terminal are you going to be working at?
Well Thanks! Northborough MA
good for you. Watch the heat on the dock this time of year.
yeh, i know right! thank God I just missed the heat this week... I just hope I can be a fast learner and be a useful worker as quick as possible, I hear they're very busy these days.
Sounds like 40hrs would be a short week!!
Better than Con Way?
You got that right!! Looked like I jumped in a pool the past couple of nights. At least they had cases of bottled waters in coolers for us.
any LTL dock this time of year is a sauna !!!!
How you making out LeeLee?!
