If you mean training on the job, that is standard practice. We are talking about needing the medical card before getting a cdl. My best take on this, is, if true, you would probably need to get the medical card on your own dime, because I can't think of any company that would cover the cost if you weren't already cdl qualified.
Granted I've been with Yellow for 16 years but prior to that I only worked for one company that didn't require me to go to their doctor for a healthcard, all others paid even just to be a casual.
