How about Arc Best and Queen Judy opt to acquire more equipment with that bonus money... And cut everyone a check for their cell bill.

She's too busy right now, first step is merging the Arc Best and Panther equipment into ABF. While it's a money saving idea, I just don't trust her and her end game!! Just MHO!!

I know they did back then, that's why I mentioned that scenario in particular....my stepfather moved us one weekend with a tractor and pup from his employer in 1980 or so.....

Used employer truck in ‘95. Wouldn’t been able to in ‘00.

The company pays the supervisors and SCM for their cell phones. I grieved this and the company stepped it out saying they will not have drivers use cell phones or they will pay monthly fee.

I answer, my 14 starts. I don’t mind the convenience factor for both parties, but it shouldn’t be an expectation.

Not with the standard deduction they have now. Can't even deduct days on the road anymore because the standard deduction went from 6 to 12 thousand for single and 24 thousand for married

Here’s one to nitpick about (Tri): All of us have a Samsara (eld I guess). Our responsibility. Gave us a home charger. Sooo, I pay for the electricity for their equipment? Not this guy.

My former fantastic shop steward used to say "don't waste time picking the fly :::::: out of the pepper." Great advice IMHO. I guess you don't subscribe to that adage. Whatever. When I'm dispatched I just want to get going and not waste time "making a point" over nothing. Each to his own I guess.

That was back when most LTL was Teamster. I don't doubt that it wouldn't happen today with all the possible legal issues. Things were looser and better back then IMHO.

Must have been RTL, back in the old days they would lend us trucks most any weekend.
They hauled my dock material free from Roanoke to Charl.

1984 used a RTL straight job to move into my first home. Great company to work for.

Hey Hook, don't make fun of my trusty steed. When he passed peacefully many years ago I had him stuffed and mounted on a pedestal and placed him in my front yard along side the Edsel and Studebaker already there. Of course I left room for the Yellow Volvo tractor I hope to acquire very soon.

Yes I would. The company needs to supply the equipment needed to do the job properly. When you start using your own phone, tools, whatever then they’re going to start expecting that you do that all the time.

Do like Estes they pay each driver $30 a month to help pay toward using their cell phones when needed. It aint much but i appreciate it.

I still don't understand why we had to sign the paper stating that we acknowledge that they are going to start using them in ABF's system? I yet to see one, matter of fact we just rented six 53"s....
