Social Security now sends statements out every 5 years about 3 months before your birthday. I just happened to receive mine the other day and noticed that there was no reported income from New Penn for 2014. For some reason they failed to report my full years Social Security wages for that year.
I now have to go to my local SS office and bring them a copy of my W-2 for 2014 to prove my wages for that year.
I have no idea if this is an isolated incident or others had the same problem. If I had not gotten my SS statement I would have never known. You may want to check your own statement to make sure you received the proper credit.
You can create an account online with the Social Security Administration and check your own reported earnings there.
