I like old trucks!!I will bet anyone a case of the beer of their choice that by 2200 tonight there are at least a dozen negative comments on this by Team B,W, B, A,L,H, and H!!!!
I like old trucks!!
NOW they want to talk about it?
It has NOTHING to do with the damn pre-trip or post trip......fix the :::: when we write it up on the OD-199 and tell the shop supervisors to stop marking it ok and putting it back on the street. ....Yall know this happens.......get rid of the junk....stop putting the onus of the problem on the drivers!...KK
I would also add, and am not picking on anyone, that there are many who do not know how and what to look for in a pretrip. It is way more than lights and tires . Ask anyone who has participated in the TDC. Most pretips in those competitions are 10 minutes or less and you would not believe the defects you can spot when you know how to look over a unit. I cannot believe anyone is not willing to spend 10 minutes or less to possibly help themselves or the next driver keep that truck in a safe operating condition.Oh please. You know as well as I do that there are plenty of drivers who dash out the gate without doing a proper pre-trip just as there are those who dash into dispatch without writing up equipment when they finish their trip because they want to hit the clock ASAP. Enough blame to go around.
The bottom line is that there would be few violations on the road if the units were properly pre-tripped and repaired before leaving.
As in our case in our barn. Our work rules state. If you go to shop for lights or tires. You must give up the first half hour.If it's tires I just wait til I get on the road.
Well said Jimi !!!NOW they want to talk about it?

I agree with you Tri! If everyone would just do a proper pretrip this whole pos fleet would be out of service and in the shop. This company skimped on maintenance for long enough, now they can pay the price.Oh please. That was a Committee Decision in the Southern Region because of some dishonesty MANY years ago with Road Drivers and Mechanics splitting the delay money.....IF the set came through a relay and was not built at your domicle, you get paid all time.....KKAs in our case in our barn. Our work rules state. If you go to shop for lights or tires. You must give up the first half hour.If it's tires I just wait til I get on the road.
On the same issue only reversed.A set coming in from another relay center and mechanical things were missed. Why does the subsequent driver of said set.Have to pay a penalty? Because that goes back to those that just get in and ride? That was a Committee Decision in the Southern Region because of some dishonesty MANY years ago with Road Drivers and Mechanics splitting the delay money.....IF the set came through a relay and was not built at your domicle, you get paid all time.....KK

Do a proper pretrip. Checking the date on the sticker located on the driver side nose of trailer is where it is.I just took to city trailers to the shop 1 federal annual inspection class done December 2013 the other 1 August 2013 being used in the city everyday
Sucker betI will bet anyone a case of the beer of their choice that by 2200 tonight there are at least a dozen negative comments on this by Team B,W, B, Y,L,H, and H!!!!
So again maybe we drivers were our own worst enemy by being dishonest? That was a Committee Decision in the Southern Region because of some dishonesty MANY years ago with Road Drivers and Mechanics splitting the delay money.....IF the set came through a relay and was not built at your domicle, you get paid all time.....KK
