Tell Ya What......... 024 Is The Worst!!!! Should Be Ashamed Of Themselves!!
A worker needs to be proud of where he works to take pride in the job he does.
A company has to give workers a reason to be proud of where he works.
As long as this company continues to treat it's workers the way it does, it will continue to get the results it gets.
I'm not going to deny that some reall bad loads come out of 024.. but we're far from the worst. Seeing how i'm not exactly sure what terminal you're from, and what terminals load to yours... We can't really compare. I can assure you however, that there are a lot of terminals that load a lot worse than we do. St, Louis, West Middlesex, Indy, Charlotte and any other point from NC. The loads of Royal Moulding from Pulaski are atrocious at best. Those typically aren't the guys from 014's fault but still really horrible freight. Loads out of Atlanta can be either the best loads you've ever seen, or just absolute disaters. I'd have to say across the board, most loads are pathetic. Theres no system of accountabilty other than claims. No write ups for sup's at any terminal that just pull the doors down and ship em out. We've also got minimal to nothing to do our jobs with. This is really a sore subject with me... I can assure you that I do my best to make sure things are claim free and loaded tight. I can't always say that about some of my co-workers, and I spend half of my shift fixing their poor efforts. Maybe if we started hiring guys throughout the system with some experience, instead of trying to make dockworkers all the time. We'd have a few more guys around to set some examples and show guys how to do their jobs right. What can you expect from places where the top guy in seniorty only has 10-15 years... what does that tell you about the ranks below him? Take a look at seniority boards from the big guys.. they've got people with 30+ years. They have moved just about everything and guys just getting into the business could learn from them, instead of a guy that might only have 3-5 years. I could ramble on and on about this... I've had many arguements and conversations with management, and they just say.. We'll even if we provided more stuff things would just be the same.. so its very apparent they dont care. Makes you wonder if they ever heard the expression.. YOu've got to spend some money to make some money.. or in our case to save some. Hopefully one day they'll catch on...
