TForce | Great article about the demise of the teamsters in trucking

The teamsters deserve this, they continue to pound $$$ into democrat elections. They signed their very own members death warrants...
But the members put up with it..

The govt is totally corrupt. If our forefathers were still alive we would be in the 2nd revolution now. Our govt was never ever intended to be this monster we have now.

So change it! Anyone who talks about revolution or civil war is totally clueless. Read the Constitution, it is only 19 pages. There is a revolution every even numbered year. The entire congress and a third of the senators, about 470 of our national lawmakers are up for reelection. We get the government we deserve. Every two years, we can fire the government. This is why democracy does not work. We the people are too stupid to self govern. All we care about is government bailing out our pensions, paying off our student loans, building our teams stadiums, keeping an unnecessary air base in our community for the jobs it provides. The government is not the problem. Voters are the problem.

And for keeping pig farms from building next to our HOA......right?

Interesting article with holes that you could, well, drive a truck through. I started trucking in the mid 70's and recently retired. I ran when the industry was regulated and then when it wasn't. The payola and graft and corruption that was between the pages of the Leonard's Guide was staggering. The Teamster power was fueled by organized crime then the pension plans were pilfered by the same organized crime ( google Anthony Provenzano). The democrats and the republican parties at that time were one in the same. It was Ronald Reagan (a republican and former union president of the Screen Actors Guild) who put the final nail in when he fired all of the air traffic controllers in 1981. That was the death knell to organized labor as it had been known up to that point. At this point it was a rag tag company named Yellow Freight that was on the balls of its ass that decided it could run many trucking companies out of business by lowering their rates and tariffs. Their business plan was to weather the storm for 9 years while running in the red. After 9 or 10 years when a bunch of the competition was gone they were going to raise their rates and be profitable. That never happened. That 9 years took over 40 years for them to go out. Although never unionized, J B Hunt was a company that benefited from Government assistance back in the 80's. They some how received a sweetheart deal for intermodal services with most of the railroads in the country. Before that they were a rag tag company.

Reagan was right firing public sector employees involved an illegal strike involving an essential public service. Private sector unions need to distance themselves from public sector unions if they ever want to gain widespread approval. Federal workers are not allowed to strike, labor disputes can only legally reach the point of an "impasse". An impasse can be resolved by appeals to mediators, fact-finders, or a higher authority[3]—or it can be ignored by management, and the status quo allowed to continue.[5]

Public sector unions, such as the teachers union, are giving unions a bad public image.

Public sector unions are a grift.
Politician should not be negotiating with their donors for their contracts.

We almost agree on something. By pounding $$$ into democrat elections the Teamsters sure ::shit:: aren't helping anyone especially themselves. So crazy they need to "rebrand" and think about where American jobs actually are. 🤔 just my opinion
