I was trained to train my fellow co-workers,to be safe drivers,and safe workers.
But for the most part its brought me a new jod description.
I'm known as the mean old safety man.
I know change is always hard,but with UPS's focus on safety on the road,and work methods these changes are a very good thing.
Just getting our dock workers to always ware the seatbelt on the forklifts was a major chore.
But their all better off if anything happens that they need the seat belt do you think they will thank me?
I don't really care what they think of me.
I'll be happy knowing their going to be safe.
Times are changing,the old Overnite way,is SERVICE,SERVICE,SERVICE,but we belong to UPS now.
Their focus is SAFETY,SAFETY,SAFETY.
Now if we can only get the Overnite managers,and UPS all on the same page in our companys focus, we'll all be alot better off.
