XPO | looking at jobs

That's exactly what happened to me at Con-way!! I offered 2 weeks and was escorted off the property like a criminal!

That's exactly why I didn't give them any notice whatsoever when I quit. Came in 20 minutes before my linehaul cut time, handed the FOM my keys and badge and told him I was done. He even had the nerve to get mad that I didn't give him notice. I told him that he should have thought about that before he escorted the last three guys to the gate like criminals. That made him even more mad. LOL

I'd raise a question to all those who have quit Con-way then quit another place and tried to get hired again somewhere else: did Con-way put bad marks down on your dac? I wouldn't be surprised if every resignation wasn't put down as a firing.

I don't know if this reflects anything but, in the SOS system at Conway, any employee I've seen leave (resign or get fired) has their status changed from "active" to "terminated".

Maybe the ex-HRG, nightmareonearhart can shed some light?

I should check my DAC report now that you mention it.

Personally, when I quit I took a long leave of absence and I was testing the waters at 2 new jobs. It worked out well because I had health insurance from con-way while I was on my probationary period on the new job.

Do you think I can get the website from you so I can check my dac??

It's always been funny the way they expect two weeks notice just so that they can disregard it and walk a guy out. I have never understood the mentality to that behavior. They will walk a guy out all crying and sobbing with their heads up and strutting. Then a fella quits and they get all red in the face like you did them wrong.

What's the line ? Free will employment ?

If they valued the drivers the way they want you to believe they do, there wouldn't be anybody leaving.

They are giving the kids at McDonalds $15 an hour. My ass needs a big raise and really flipping soon.

I guarantee you I wasn't crying or sniffling... If our personnel manager wasn't female I prolly would have been swinging... Our FOS had the audacity to get pissed at another driver for walking out with no notice then marched me out not too long after when I gave proper notice. I have NO respect for Con-way management.

The no notice policy goes both ways. **** them if they get pissed if you walk out. You should do it at the start of your shift. We had a driver quit, he was allowed to work out his two weeks. All depends on local management.

When I gave them my two week notice, they let me use two weeks of vacation I had. My scm said,go try your new job and it you don't like it, you can come back. I was really was shocked by that gesture. I stayed with my new job though and btw this was CSE in '96.
